Welcome to Swippet. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Swippet mobile application (“the App”), developed and operated by Juho Riihijärvi (“we,” “us,” “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. What Swippet Does

Swippet is a photo and video management app for iOS that helps you organize your media library. You sort items by swiping them into keep or trash categories. The App reads your existing photo library using Apple’s PhotoKit framework, displays your media for sorting, and can delete items you have marked as trash when you choose to empty the trash, or delete any spesific pictures within the trashcan. The App also provides statistics, analytics, and progress tracking related to your sorting activity.

All processing happens on your device. Swippet does not upload, store, or transmit your photos or videos to any external server. For details on how the App handles your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

Swippet is rated for all ages on the Apple App Store. The App does not contain age-restricted content. However, because the App can permanently delete photos and videos from your device, we recommend that minors use the App under parental supervision. By using the App, you acknowledge that you understand its deletion functionality and accept responsibility for your sorting decisions.

3. Your Device and Photo Library

Swippet does not require you to create an account. The App operates entirely on your device and accesses your photo library through Apple’s PhotoKit framework with your explicit permission.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device. You acknowledge that anyone with access to your unlocked device may be able to use Swippet and make sorting decisions, including permanently deleting photos and videos from your library.

4. Photo and Video Deletion

Please read this section carefully. Swippet enables you to mark photos and videos for deletion and subsequently remove them from your Apple Photos library.

4.1 How Deletion Works

When you swipe an item to trash, it is not immediately deleted. It is placed in Swippet’s internal trash, where it remains until you explicitly choose to empty the trash. Before deletion occurs, iOS presents Apple’s native confirmation dialog asking you to confirm the removal of the selected items. Only after you confirm this system dialog are the items moved to Apple Photos’ “Recently Deleted” album.

4.2 Recovery Options

You have multiple opportunities to recover items before they are permanently lost. Within the App, you can undo your last three sorting decisions for photos. For videos, you can scroll back to revisit your decision. Any item in Swippet’s trash can be restored before you empty it. After emptying the trash, deleted items remain in Apple Photos’ “Recently Deleted” album for approximately 30 days (per Apple’s standard behavior) before iOS permanently removes them.

4.3 Your Responsibility

You acknowledge and agree that: you are solely responsible for reviewing which items are in your trash before emptying it; Swippet is a tool that assists your decisions and the App does not independently decide to delete any media; every deletion requires your explicit confirmation through Apple’s native system dialog; and once items are permanently removed by iOS after the recovery period, they cannot be restored by us or by the App.

4.4 Auto-Keep for Videos

The App includes an auto-keep feature for video sorting. If you scroll past a video without making an explicit keep or trash decision, the App may automatically mark that video as kept. This feature can be disabled in the App’s settings by subscribers. Auto-keep is a protective default designed to prevent accidental loss — it does not automatically trash any content.
